Perry is Perry is a Chicago native who was she was born into Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two appearances on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on The ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mother. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, she had a minor role on ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, she portrayed a child model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) as her mother as a young version. She was cast in the role by auditioning for an open role despite having a connection to the character.
