David Muir is an American anchor and journalist best known for his ABC newscast World News Tonight with David Muir and for the ABC News magazine 20/20 for where he acts as an anchor co-anchor. The program, which is characterized by its dramatic clips of celebrity gossip on video and animated gestures is now the most watched news program in America. Also, he is known for his Emmy-nominated program Made In America. Before taking over ABC World News Tonight he was the anchor in charge for the anchor who was his predecessor Diane Sawyer. A number of his evening ABC News specials include Breaking Point - Heroin in America as well as Flashpoint - Refugees and refugees in America. He has traveled around the globe, providing news coverage in Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti & the Gulf of Mexico. He's the winner of many Emmy Awards, Edward R. Murrow Honors and awards from Associated Press.
