Sharon Ann Leal (of Filipino and African American heritage) is a Filipino actor who gained an impact in Hollywood through her performance on the TV series Boston Public. She was born in Arizona and spent the bulk of her childhood in the Philippines before moving into California together with family. When she was a teenager she began to perform in stage productions put on performed by local theater companies. In 1993, she worked alongside voice coach Seth Riggs through a vocal grant. Her first screen appearance was on CBS's Guiding light. Shortly afterward, her performance on the show as Marilyn Sudor on Fox's Boston Public earned her praises. Instinct, Hellcats Recovery Road were two of her most memorable TV performances. In the musical Dreamgirls, her role as Michelle Morris earned several award nominations.
